More information
With the Weingut Kiefer Martin Schmidt Pinot Gris comes a first-class white wine in the glass. In this it offers a wonderfully bright, copper-gold color. This single-varietal German wine shows wonderfully expressive notes of apples, apricots, mirabelles and vineyard peach in the glass. These are joined by hints of walnut, brittle and toasted hazelnut.
This dry white wine from Weingut Kiefer is just right for purists who prefer to drink bone dry. The Martin Schmidt Pinot Gris comes very close to this, as it was vinified with just 2.9 grams of residual sugar. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the Martin Schmidt Pinot Gris flatters the palate with a pleasing feel, without lacking freshness at the same time.
Vinification of the Weingut Kiefer Martin Schmidt Pinot Gris
The balanced Martin Schmidt Pinot Gris from Germany is a single varietal wine, vinified from the Pinot Gris grape variety. In Baden, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loam, loess and volcanic rock. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Martin Schmidt Pinot Gris can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for several months.
Food recommendation for Weingut Kiefer Martin Schmidt Pinot Gris
This German wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to leek tortilla, potato pan with salmon or Thai cucumber salad.
