More information about Martin Schmidt Spätburgunder feinherb - Weingut Kiefer

In the glass, the Martin Schmidt Pinot Noir from Weingut Kiefer shows a brilliant shimmering light red color. The first nose of Martin Schmidt Pinot Noir presents nuances of black currants, blackberries and mulberries. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by more fruity-balsamic nuances.

Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the Martin Schmidt Pinot Noir flatters with a pleasing mouthfeel without lacking freshness.

Vinification of the Martin Schmidt Pinot Noir from Weingut Kiefer

The elegant Martin Schmidt Spätburgunder from Germany is a single-varietal wine, vinified from the Spätburgunder grape variety. In Baden, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loess and volcanic rock. After the grape harvest, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Martin Schmidt Pinot Noir can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.

This German wine is best enjoyed at a temperate 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to veal and onion casserole, baked feta cheese parcels or spinach gratin with almonds.
