Mas des Mas Grés de Montpellier AOC 2017 - Les Domaines Paul Mas
The powerful Mas des Mas Grés de Montpellier from Les Domaines Paul Mas flows into the glass with a dense crimson colour. When the wine glass is swivelled, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in clear church windows at the edge of the glass. To the nose, this Les Domaines Paul Mas red wine presents all kinds of blackberries, morello cherries, blackcurrants, mulberries and plums. As if this wasn't already impressive, cocoa beans, cinnamon and black tea are added to the wine by ageing it in large wooden barrels.
This dry red wine from Les Domaines Paul Mas is something for purists who like it absolutely dry. The Mas des Mas Grés de Montpellier is already quite close to this, as it was vinified with just 1 gram of residual sugar. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an exceptionally balanced texture. Due to its lively fruit acidity, Mas des Mas Grés de Montpellier is exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this red wine from the Languedoc wine growing region finally inspires with considerable length. Once again there are hints of black cherry and plum.
Vinification of Les Domaines Paul Mas Mas of Mas Grés de Montpellier
The powerful Mas des Mas Grés de Montpellier from France is a cuvée made from the grape varieties Garnacha, Mourvèdre and Syrah. Of course, Mas des Mas Grés de Montpellier is also determined by more than just the Coteaux du Languedoc soil. This Frenchman can be described in the best sense of the word as a wine of the old world, which presents itself in an exceptionally distinguished manner. After the manual harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the quickest route. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Mas des Mas Grés de Montpellier is aged for a few months in oak barriques.
