More information
The grapes for the smooth, fine and pure Merlot from Feudo Arancio grow in the Italian wine-growing region of DOC Sicilia.
In the glass, this wine shimmers in a ruby red hue with delicate violet reflections. The broad and powerful bouquet is pleasing with notes of ripe fruit as well as cherries and berries (raspberry and blackberry) preserved in alcohol. A gentle aroma of jam with spicy wood notes complements the fragrance. On the palate, this Italian red wine impresses with its medium-bodied structure, smooth texture and fine, soft tannins. This wine reflects the warmth of Sicily in its aroma and taste.
Vinification of the Feudo Arancio Merlot
The ripe Merlot grapes are harvested in mid-September and destemmed in the Feudo Arancio wine cellar before being fermented on the skins for 10 days in stainless steel tanks. This is followed by malolactic fermentation. The 10-month maturation in French oak barriques provides the wonderfully spicy, woody notes and fruity aromas.
Wine recommendation for the Merlot Feudo Arancio Sicily
We recommend this dry red wine from Italy with matured ham, legume soups, grilled and boiled meat, roasts and spicy cheeses.
