Michter's is the epitome of first-class, handcrafted American whiskey. The Michter's Distillery, based in Louisville (Kentucky), is located in the heart of the American whiskey industry and is an absolute beacon when it comes to the highest level of distillation art.
Michter's introduces a number of award-winning whiskey varieties, mostly in very limited quantities, and Michter's is best known for its small batch bourbons. In addition, the USA distillery also boasts the finest single barrel rye and unblended American whiskey in very small production runs, which are among the best on the market.
The history of Michter's goes back a long way, to the 18th century. The distillery was founded in 1753 by John Shenk, a Mennonite farmer from Switzerland, and is now managed by Willie Pratt, a highly experienced distiller of Brown-Forman Corporation. With over 40 years of experience in the whiskey industry, Pratt can easily maintain the high level of Michter's Whiskey. Together with Pam Heilmann, an experienced distiller and Vice President of Michter's, Willie and Pam form the core competence of one of Kentucky's most respected whiskey production teams.
