More information
With the Casa Rojo MMM Macho Man Monastrell comes a first-class red wine in the glass. In this it offers a wonderfully dense, crimson color. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which is evident in strong church windows at the edge of the glass. Poured into a red wine glass, this Old World red wine presents wonderfully expressive aromas of blackberry, blueberry, black currant and mulberry, rounded out by dark chocolate, garrigue and black tea contributed by barrel aging.
This dry red wine from Casa Rojo is perfect for purists who like it absolutely dry. The MMM Macho Man Monastrell already comes very close to this, it was vinified with just 3.2 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully crisp. The fruit acidity of the MMM Macho Man Monastrell is remarkably mild and makes this wine wonderfully smooth. The finale of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Murcia, more precisely from the Jumilla DO, captivates with a beautiful reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and limestone.
Vinification of the Casa Rojo MMM Macho Man Monastrell
This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Monastrell. For this wonderfully powerful single-varietal wine from Casa Rojo, only first-class grapes were brought in. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Murcia. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay, sand, limestone, shale and gravel. MMM Macho Man Monastrell is an Old World wine through and through, as this Spaniard exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, the MMM Macho Man Monastrell is aged for another 5 months in French oak barrels.
