More information
In the glass, this red wine from Talamonti offers aromas of morello cherries, plums, mulberries, blackcurrants and black cherries, complemented by other fruity nuances. The Talamonti Modà Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is wonderfully dry for wine enthusiasts. This red wine is never coarse or austere, as you would expect from a wine in the upper price range. This light red wine is balanced and multi-faceted on the palate. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Abruzzo wine-growing region, more precisely from Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC, is captivating with good persistence. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Modà Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from Talamonti
The balanced Modà Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from Italy is a single-varietal wine made from the Montepulciano grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Abruzzo. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into limestone soils. The grapes for Modà Montepulciano d'Abruzzo are harvested exclusively by hand at the time of optimum ripeness, without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of this process, the Modà Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is matured for a further 6 months in oak barrels.
Dining recommendations for the Modà Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from Talamonti
Ideally, enjoy this red wine from Italy at a temperature of 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram, duck breast with sugar snap peas or veal and onion casserole.
