More information
The Monte Ducay Reserva Seleccionada Pergamino from Bodegas San Valero is a wonderful Spanish red wine blend of Tempranillo (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) and Garnacha Tinta (10%) grape varieties.
In the glass, this wine shines in a dense ruby red with purple reflections. This elegant Reserva presents an intensely fruity bouquet with aromas of dark wild berries, red fruits and wonderful floral hints. On the palate, this red wine is fresh and fleshy with fine soft tannins and a compact, beautifully integrated acid structure. A lovely, lush finish rounds out this Spanish red wine.
The name Monte Ducay comes from the vineyard located in close proximity to the winery. The word Pergamino derives from the German term Pergament, and is meant to draw attention to the paper that wraps the bottle.
Vinifcation of the Monte Ducay Reserva Seleccionada Pergamino Tinto
The grapes harvested by hand at Bodegas San Valero are first destemmed, crushed and the resulting must is fermented in stainless steel tanks under temperature control. After fermentation is complete, the wine is first aged for 12 months in American oak barrels before finally rounding out in bottle for another 24 months.
