The Villa Sparina Montej Bianco Monferrato is a first-class white wine in a glass. It offers a wonderfully bright, light yellow color. In the glass, this white wine from Villa Sparina reveals aromas of pink grapefruit, physalis, kumquats, mangoes and papayas, complemented by juniper, Mediterranean herbs and garrigue. The Villa Sparina Montej Bianco Monferrato impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally low residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so, despite its dryness, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance. Excellent taste does not necessarily need residual sugar. This light white wine is balanced and multi-faceted on the palate. The finish of this white wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region, Monferrato DOC to be precise, impresses with its remarkable persistence. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets from the clay and limestone-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Villa Sparina Montej Bianco Monferrato
The basis for the balanced Montej Bianco Monferrato from Piedmont are grapes from the Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc varieties. In Piedmont, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on limestone and clay soils. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for the Montej Bianco Monferrato are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are transported to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
