A dream of reality became

1987 - Over the years, Aurelio Montes and his partner Douglas Murray had acquired an extensive knowledge of the world of wine and wanted to finally vinify their own high quality wines in Chile. In 1988 the other two partners (Alfredo Vidaurre and Pedro Grand) joined them and founded DiscoverWine Ltda - which later became the world famous Viña Montes winery.
Many years later the Montes wines have been delighting the whole world with their exceptional and lasting quality. Montes Alpha became a synonym for the great Chilean premium brand.

A room with French barrels

An absolute highlight of the Montes winery is the French Barrel Room. A total of 800 French oak barrels are arranged in a semicircle - in these the best Montes wines mature. A truly theatrical stage set with the moving silence and the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. No doubt that this is the favourite place of the Montes Angels.

Montes Alpha Special Cuvée and Outer Limits

The wines of Montes Alpha Special Cuvée are a new milestone in the history of Montes. The team of winegrowers and winemakers has set itself the challenge of improving quality even further and creating a new generation of wines superior to Montes Alpha.
