When swirling the glass, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which is evident in the stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. On the nose, this Castello di Nipozzano red wine reveals all kinds of lavender, violets, lilies, blueberries and blackcurrants. As if that were not already impressive, the ageing in small wooden barrels adds further aromas such as gingerbread spice, cinnamon and oriental spices.
The Castello di Nipozzano Mormoreto Toscana is wonderfully dry for wine drinkers. This red wine is never coarse or austere, as is appropriate for a wine of this reputation. The texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully velvety on the palate. On the finish, this very storable wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of violets and lily. Mineral notes from the marl and limestone-dominated soils are added to the finish.

The powerful Mormoreto Toscana from Italy is a cuvée made from the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Sangiovese grape varieties. Naturally, the Mormoreto Toscana is also determined by climatic and stylistic factors Toscana IGT. This Italian can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, presenting itself in an exceptionally impressive way. Once perfect physiological ripeness has been ensured, the grapes for Mormoreto Toscana are harvested exclusively by hand without the aid of coarse and less selective machines. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden vats at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Mormoreto Toscana is aged for 30 months in oak barrels. The ageing in oak barrels is followed by a long period of maturation in the bottle, which makes this red wine even more complex.
