With the Markus Pfaffmann MP Riesling comes a first-class white wine into the swirled glass. In this it presents a wonderfully brilliant, light yellow color. This single-varietal German wine shows wonderfully expressive notes of lilac, jasmine, morello cherry and apricot in the glass. These are joined by hints of garrigue, juniper and Mediterranean herbs.
On the tongue, this light-footed white wine is characterized by a tremendously melting texture. Due to its lively fruit acidity, the MP Riesling is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of Palatinate finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of acacia and jasmine appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and sand are added.
Vinification of the Markus Pfaffmann MP Riesling
The basis for the elegant MP Riesling from Pfalz are grapes from the Riesling grape variety. In the Palatinate, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay, sand, limestone and loess. After harvesting, the grapes quickly reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the MP Riesling is allowed to further harmonize on the fine lees for several months.
Food recommendation for the MP Riesling by Markus Pfaffmann
This German wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to vegetable stew with pesto, cod with cucumber-mustard vegetables or roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce.
