The light-footed Müller-Thurgau Köhler-Wölbling glides into the glass with a brilliant light yellow color. The bouquet of this white wine from Saale Unstrut seduces with hints of apple, quince, pear and nashi pear. If we trace the aromatics further, forest floor, cinnamon and gingerbread spice are added.
The Köhler-Wölbling Müller-Thurgau presents itself wonderfully dry to the wine connoisseur. This white wine never appears coarse or meager, but round and smooth. On the palate, the texture of this light-footed white wine is wonderfully dense. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Müller-Thurgau presents itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region Saale Unstrut finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of nashi pear and apple. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by limestone and loess soil join in.
Vinification of Köhler-Wölbling Müller-Thurgau
The basis for the elegant Müller-Thurgau from Saale Unstrut are grapes from the grape variety Müller-Thurgau. In Saale Unstrut, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils dominated by limestone and loess. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately sent to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.
