More information about The Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon - Robert Mondavi

With the Robert Mondavi The Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon comes a first-class red wine in the wine glass. Here it reveals a wonderfully dense ruby color. Tilting the glass slightly, a transition of the hue towards garnet red can be seen at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. When swirling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high density and richness, which is evident in strong church windows at the rim of the glass. Poured into a Burgundy goblet, this red wine from the USA reveals wonderfully fragrant and complex aromas of blueberry, violet, lily and plum, rounded out by juniper, dark chocolate and cinnamon contributed by aging in wooden barrels.

On the palate, Robert Mondavi's The Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon opens wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. Some wines are dry on the label, others really are. This red wine belongs to the latter group, as it was bottled with only 0.7 grams of residual sugar. Full-bodied and multifaceted, this velvety, melting and dense red wine presents itself on the palate. Due to its lively fruit acidity, The Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. The final of this very ripening red wine from the wine-growing region of California, more precisely from Napa Valley, finally thrilled with extraordinary reverberation.

Vinification of the Robert Mondavi The Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

This powerful red wine from the USA is made from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for The Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for 18 months in French barriques.

Food recommendation for the Robert Mondavi The Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

This red wine from the USA is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as a companion to duck. It goes perfectly with duck breast with sugar snap peas, goose breast with ginger-red cabbage and marjoram or braised chicken in red wine.
