The Nipozzano Vecchie Viti Riserva Chianti Rùfina from Castello di Nipozzano in Tuscany offers a bright, ruby red color in the swirled glass. If you tilt the glass slightly, you can see a transition of the wine's color towards garnet red at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. If you swirl the glass, you can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it is neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from the Old World offers wonderfully elegant and complex aromas of black cherry, blackcurrant, quince and morello cherry, rounded off with oriental spices, vanilla and gingerbread spice, which are contributed by the ageing in wooden barrels.
On the palate, the Nipozzano Vecchie Viti Riserva Chianti Rùfina from Castello di Nipozzano starts off wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. On the palate, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly silky texture. The finish of this mature red wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region delights with a remarkable aftertaste.
Vinification of the Nipozzano Vecchie Viti Riserva Chianti Rùfina from Castello di Nipozzano
Canaiolo, Colorino, Malvasia Nera and Sangiovese grapes form the basis for the first-class and wonderfully balanced Nipozzano Vecchie Viti Riserva Chianti Rùfina cuvée from Castello di Nipozzano. The Nipozzano Vecchie Viti Riserva Chianti Rùfina is an Old World wine through and through, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for the Nipozzano Vecchie Viti Riserva Chianti Rùfina are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After manual harvesting, the grapes are transported to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Nipozzano Vecchie Viti Riserva Chianti Rùfina is matured for 27 months in oak barrels.
