Vinification of the Mayer am Pfarrplatz Nussberg Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC
The balanced Nussberg Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC from Austria is a cuvée vinified from the grape varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Rotgipfler and Zierfandler. In Vienna, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone and marl. Nussberg Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC is an Old World wine through and through, as this Austrian breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. A considerable influence on the development of the vintage is also the fact that the Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Rotgipfler and Zierfandler grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate. This results, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. After completion of fermentation, the Nussberg Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC is aged for another 6 months in 500 l oak barrels.
