More information
The Oak & Steel Pinot Gris from Weingut Lergenmüller in the Palatinate presents a brilliant, copper-gold color in the wine glass. This single varietal German wine flatters the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of nashi pear, apples, quince and pears. It is joined by hints of oriental spices, gingerbread spice and roasted almond.
This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with 6.8 grams of residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine in the upper price range, this German wine naturally enraptures with the finest balance for all its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. With its present fruit acidity, the Oak & Steel Pinot Gris is exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of the Palatinate finally inspires with beautiful length. Hints of nashi pear and apple are again apparent.
Vinification of the winery Lergenmüller Oak & Steel Pinot Gris
The basis for the elegant Oak & Steel Pinot Gris from the Palatinate are grapes from the grape variety Pinot Gris. After harvesting, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
