More information

In the glass, the Oberbergener Bassgeige Grauburgunder from Weingut Franz Keller offers a brilliant shimmering copper-gold color. In the glass, this white wine from Weingut Franz Keller offers aromas of mangos, physalis, peaches, guavas and nectarines, complemented by vanilla, black tea and dark chocolate. The Weingut Franz Keller Oberbergener Bassgeige Grauburgunder inspires with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with only 0.9 grams of residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine in the high quality wine range, this German wine naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need sugar. With its lively fruit acidity, Oberbergener Bassgeige Grauburgunder reveals itself to be exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of Baden finally inspires with good length. Once again, hints of physalis and peach appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by volcanic rock and loess soil join in.

Vinification of the Oberbergener Bassgeige Grauburgunder from Weingut Franz Keller

The elegant Oberbergener Bassgeige Grauburgunder from Germany is a single-varietal wine, pressed from the Pinot Gris grape variety. In Baden, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loess soil and volcanic rock. After the grape harvest, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.

Food recommendation for the Oberbergener Bassgeige Grauburgunder from Weingut Franz Keller

Enjoy this white wine from Germany ideally well chilled at 8 - 10°C as an accompanying wine to coconut-lime fish curry, roasted trout with ginger pear or cabbage roulades.
