The elegant Oberrotweiler Kirchberg Syrah from Landerer comes into the glass with a bright purple color. When swirling the wine glass, one can perceive a first-class balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. The first nose of the Oberrotweiler Kirchberg Syrah shows nuances of blueberries, mulberries and black currants. The fruity hints of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as oriental spices, gingerbread spice and vanilla.
This dry red wine from Landerer is something for people who like their wine dry. The Oberrotweiler Kirchberg Syrah already comes quite close to this, having been vinified with just 0.7 grams of residual sugar. On the tongue, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly velvety texture. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the Oberrotweiler Kirchberg Syrah flatters with a pleasing feel on the palate, without lacking freshness at the same time. In the finish, this red wine from the Baden wine-growing region, which can be stored well, finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of blueberry and black currant. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by loess and volcanic rock join in.
Vinification of the Oberrotweiler Kirchberg Syrah from Landerer
The balanced Oberrotweiler Kirchberg Syrah from Germany is a single varietal wine made from the Syrah grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Baden. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of loess and volcanic rock. Obviously, the Oberrotweiler Kirchberg Syrah is also determined by the climate and viticultural style of Oberrotweil. This German wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, and it is extraordinarily impressive. The ripening of the grapes for this Syrah wine is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Baden, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and evenly ripened grapes and rather moderate must weight. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for the Oberrotweiler Kirchberg Syrah are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months in oak barrels.
