The olive oil Olio Extra Vergine di Oliva of Tasca d'Almerita from Sicily is a wonderfully aromatic virgin olive oil that comes out of the bottle with a golden hue and green shimmer. Aromas of rosemary and ripe as well as green tomatoes are especially noticeable, but also subtle notes of white truffle and artichokes.

The youthfulness of this olive oil from Tenuta Regaleali is underlined by a light, spicy tingle on the tongue. The particular microclimate of Sicily gives this wonderful olive oil its special, highly aromatic characteristics. 

Production of the Olio Extra Vergine d'Oliva of Tenuta Regaleali

The Olio Extra Vergine di Oliva of Tasca d'Almerita is produced from the Nocellara and Biancolilla, but also a part of Frantoio can be found in the cuvée. The harvest on the Regaleali estate is done by hand. On the same day of harvesting, the olives are taken to the oil press in Valledolmo and cold pressed. For the natural decantation phase, the oil is taken to the wine cellars and when the cold at Regaleali subsides in March, the oil is bottled unfiltered. The Tasca d'Almerita estate owns 3,000 olive trees, 1,000 of which are over 80 years old. 

Food recommendation for the Olio Extra Vergine d'Oliva of Tasca d'Almerita

We recommend this cold pressed oil according to Sicilian tradition to vegetable soups, to pasta, grilled meat and fresh salad. It is also traditionally used to fry the traditional Panelle di Case Grandi, a type of pancake.
