More information about Opium Nero d'Avola Appassimento - Baglio Curatolo

The Opium Nero d'Avola Appassimento from the wine-growing region of Sicily reveals itself in the glass in a dense purple red. The bouquet of this red wine from Sicily delights with aromas of sour cherry and pomegranate. If we trace the aromas further, cloves are added.

This wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally low residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so, despite its dryness, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance. Taste does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. On the finish, this youthful wine from the wine-growing region of Sicily finally impresses with good length. Once again, there are hints of sour cherry and pomegranate.

Vinification of the Baglio Curatolo Opium Nero d'Avola Appassimento

The basis for the powerful Opium Nero d'Avola Appassimento from Italy are grapes from the Nero d'Avola grape variety. After the grape harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.

Recommendation for the Opium Nero d'Avola Appassimento from Baglio Curatolo

This Italian red wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is the perfect accompaniment to lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs, roast veal liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce or goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram.
