Os Cantals DO - Cuevas de Arom

The Os Cantals from Cuevas de Arom is an excellent, complex red wine made from the Garnacha Tinta grape variety (100%). This red wine is grown in the Spanish D.O. Campo de Borja in Aragon. 

In the glass, this Spanish wine sparkles in a medium garnet red with light red highlights. The aromatic bouquet has a complex array of flavors. The nose delights in juicy cherries, plums and ripe raspberries with hints of fresh licorice and fennel. The spicy secondary notes reveal black pepper, clove and subtle smoky nuances. The well-structured body presents a punchy personality that is accompanied by supple, ripe tannins and a taut acid structure. This Spanish red wine convinces with richness of finesse, elegance and long, present finish. 

Vinification of the Cuevas de Arom Os Cantals

The Garnacha grapes for this complex red wine grow at an altitude of 500-600 m in flat terrain on vines over 25 years old. The soils are rich in iron, limestone and rock. The growth of the grapes is favored by the continental climate with a slight Mediterranean influence. 

The harvest and also the selection of the grapes are carefully done by hand. After the gentle and careful pressing of the grapes, the resulting mash is fermented in cement tanks at a controlled temperature. After this completed fermentation process, this wine is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels. Finally, this red wine is bottled lightly filtered.
