Held at a slight angle, the Bordeaux glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the rims. When the wine glass is swirled, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which can be seen in the stained glass windows on the rim of the glass. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully elegant aromas of mulberry, blackcurrant, blueberry and blackberry, rounded off by oriental spices, dark chocolate and cinnamon, which are contributed by the barrel ageing.
This dry red wine from Masi Agricola is for wine drinkers who like it absolutely dry. The Osar Rosso del Veronese comes very close to this, as it was produced with just 0.8 grams of residual sugar. The texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully full-bodied on the palate. Thanks to the moderate fruit acidity, the Osar Rosso del Veronese has a pleasant mouthfeel without lacking in juicy liveliness. On the finish, this very storable wine from the Veneto wine-growing region impresses with its exceptional length. Once again, there are hints of blackcurrant and mulberry. In the finish, mineral notes from the limestone and clay-dominated soils are added.
Vinification of the Osar Rosso del Veronese from Masi Agricola
This powerful red wine from Italy is made from the Oseleta grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Veneto. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into clay and limestone soils. The Osar Rosso del Veronese is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The fact that the Oseleta grapes thrive under the influence of a warm climate also has an undeniable influence on the development of the grapes. Among other things, this results in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high alcohol content in the wine. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation for 36 months in oak barrels. The ageing in wooden barrels is followed by a long bottle ageing period, which makes this red wine even more complex.
Dining recommendations for Masi Agricola Osar Rosso del Veronese
