Winery with royal clientele
In 1786, the founder Peter Joseph Valckenberg was the first to export German wines to Europe and the world on a sustainable basis. England in particular was a popular export country and soon royal houses and dukes were among his clientele.
His wine trading business developed at a rapid pace into an international import and export company.
Over several generations
The Valckenberg wine trading company has now been in existence for more than 230 years and has been owner-managed with a great deal of passion right from the start. Through the generations, everyone sees themselves as discoverers and ambassadors of the wine world - including the current owners Tilman Queins and Peter Bohn.
The wine line
With varietal wines from the Palatinate and Rheinhessen, Valckenberg offers you an attractive introduction to the world of the most famous and interesting grape varieties.
The growing areas
Is the largest wine region in Germany - with more than 26000 hectares of vineyards located on the left bank of the great Rhine bend. The name Rheinhessen can be traced back to the former owner Duke Ludwig I of Hesse. Peter Joseph Valckenberg enchants with his wines:
- Pinot Noir
- Grey Burgundy
- White Burgundy
Sparkling wine from Rheinhessen in the Numero 1 line is also available.
The Palatinate is the second largest wine growing region in Germany. It stretches from Bockenheim in the north to Schweigen on the French border. Valckenberg presents us, among others, the grape varieties Dornfelder and Pinot Gris from the Palatinate.
