The Pelofino Toscana Rosso IGT from Fattoria Le Pupille has a ruby red color with garnet reflections in the glass. On the nose, aromas of red berries alternate with balsamic notes. Fruity, round and harmonious on the palate, this young Tuscan red wine delights with soft, melting tannins and good structure, with a fresh and balanced finish.
Vinification of the Pelofino Toscana Rosso IGT from Le Pupille
This young cuvée combines Tuscany's main grape variety with international grape varieties. Sangiovese dominates with 50%, followed by 30% Syrah, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. The grapes grow in all the vineyards of the Fattoria Le Pupille estate and the grape harvest takes place in September and October, depending on the different degrees of ripeness. After harvesting, the grapes macerate with the skins for 15 days. Fermentation and ageing take place over 5 months in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. A total of 60,000 bottles are bottled. The first vintage of this wine was 2006.
