More information about Pessac-Léognan AOC - Château Haut Vigneau

The Pessac-Léognan from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux appears in the glass in dense purple. Tilting the glass slightly, a transition of the hue towards garnet red can be seen at the edges. When swirling the glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which is evident in distinct church windows at the rim of the glass. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this Old World red wine offers wonderfully expressive aromas of black currant and blackberry, rounded out by blueberry.

On the palate, the Pessac-Léognan from Château Haut Vigneau opens wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. On the palate, the texture of this punchy red wine is wonderfully velvety. The final of this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux, more precisely from Pessac-Léognan, finally convinces with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the gravel-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Château Haut Vigneau Pessac-Léognan

The powerful Pessac-Léognan from France is a cuvée, pressed from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In Bordeaux, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of gravel. Clearly, Pessac-Léognan is also defined by more than just the soil Pessac-Léognan. This French wine can literally be described as an Old World wine that is extraordinarily impressive. After harvesting, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.

Food recommendation for the Château Haut Vigneau Pessac-Léognan

Experience this red wine from France ideally tempered at 15 - 18°C as a companion to leek tortilla, spinach gratin with almonds or vegetable couscous with beef meatballs.
