More information about Cru Classé Blanc Pessac-Léognan AOC - Château La Mission Haut-Brion

The Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé Blanc from Château La Mission Haut-Brion in Bordeaux reveals a dense, pale yellow color in the wine glass. The color of this white wine also shows golden yellow reflections in the center. In the glass, this white wine from Château La Mission Haut-Brion offers aromas of brioche, jasmine, mango and lemon, complemented by cedar and lime. This French wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine, this French wine naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily require sugar. On the tongue, this punchy white wine is characterized by an incredibly crisp and creamy texture. The finale of this mature white wine from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux, more precisely from Pessac-Léognan, finally convinces with extraordinary reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the gravel-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé Blanc from Château La Mission Haut-Brion

The basis for the powerful Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé Blanc from Bordeaux are grapes from the Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon varieties. In Bordeaux, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of gravel. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for the Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé Blanc are harvested exclusively by hand without the use of punishing and less selective full harvesters. After the hand harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in small wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by a maturation of 9 months in oak barrels.
