More information

The elegant Pessac-Léognan Blanc from Domaine de Chevalier enters the glass with a bright light yellow color. Swiveling the wine glass, one can perceive a first-class balance in this white wine, as it stands out on the glass walls neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. Poured into a white wine glass, this Old World white wine presents wonderfully expressive aromas of peach, mango, grapefruit and orange, rounded out by other fruity nuances contributed by barrel aging.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine Icon wine segment, this Frenchman naturally enraptures with the finest balance for all its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily require much residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced white wine presents itself wonderfully creamy. The final of this white wine from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux, more precisely from Pessac-Léognan, finally thrills with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and gravel.

Vinification of the Domaine de Chevalier Pessac-Léognan Blanc

The basis for the balanced Pessac-Léognan Blanc from Bordeaux are grapes from the Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon varieties. In Bordeaux, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and gravel. Of course, Pessac-Léognan Blanc is also defined by more than just the Pessac-Léognan soil. This French wine can be described in the best sense of the word as an Old World wine that is exceptionally impressive. The grapes for this white wine from France are harvested, at the time of optimal ripeness, exclusively by hand. After the harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for 18 months in oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Domaine de Chevalier Pessac-Léognan Blanc

Experience this white wine from France ideally well chilled at 8 - 10°C as an accompaniment to omelet with salmon and fennel, coconut-lime fish curry or Japanese-style fillet of turbot with vegetable julienne.
