More information
The wine takes its name from the Pfefferer grape, a specialty made from the golden Muscat grape, which has always been so well known in South Tyrol. Probably because of its spicy aroma, which is reminiscent of pepper. Pfefferer is a light wine with freshness and delicate muscat fruit aromas. The Pfefferer surprises with its elegant and lively youth and its unmistakable character. The first nose of Pfefferer reveals notes of Gallia melon, pineapple and orange blossom. The fruity parts of the bouquet are joined by black tea, vanilla and oriental spices.
This dry white wine from Kellerei Schreckbichl is ideal for wine lovers who like it fresh and fruity. The Pfefferer was vinified with just 6 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, this light and spicy white wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. It has a pleasant acidity, a fine aroma of nutmeg and is also racy and peppery, something that the classic muscat grape lacks. It is not too overpowering and yet is a wine of character. The finish of this white wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region is captivating with good persistence. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the soils dominated by sandstone and limestone.
Vinification of the Schreckbichl Pfefferer winery
The basis for the elegant Pfefferer from Trentino-Alto Adige are grapes from the Goldmuskateller grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Trentino-Alto Adige. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into limestone and sandstone soils. The grapes for this white wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand at optimum ripeness. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Pfefferer can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.
