Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling trocken 2019 - Günther Steinmetz
The Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling by Günther Steinmetz from the Moselle shows a brilliant, light yellow colour in the glass. The bouquet of this white wine from the Moselle is captivating with hints of grapefruit, lime, pomelo and kumquat. If we continue to trace the aroma, sun-warm rock and forest soil come along.
This dry white wine from Günther Steinmetz is perfect for purists who like it absolutely dry. On the tongue, this light-footed white wine is characterised by an incredibly crisp texture. In the finish, this storable white wine from the wine-growing region of the Moselle finally inspires with considerable length. Once again there are hints of lime and pink grapefruit. In the aftertaste mineral notes of the slate dominated soils are added.
Vinification of Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling by Günther Steinmetz
The elegant Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling from Germany is a pure wine made from the Riesling grape variety. By the Moselle, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on slate soils. Extraordinary at the origin of this white wine by Günther Steinmetz is the fact that the grapes in Piesport thrive on stone terraces. Unfortunately, this traditional way of cultivating the vineyard is very costly and time-consuming and is therefore rarely found any more. The grapes for this white wine from Germany are, after the optimal ripeness has been ensured, exclusively hand picked. After the manual harvest the grapes reach the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by a maturation for a few months in oak barrels.
Food recommendation for the Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling by Günther Steinmetz
This German white wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to fruity endive salad, leek tortilla or potato pan with salmon.
