More information
The barrel-aged Pinot Blanc Reserve from the Moselle winegrowing region appears in the glass in brilliantly shimmering copper gold. After the first swirl, this white wine is characterized by a fascinating lightness that makes it dance lively in the glass. Poured into a white wine glass, this white wine from Germany displays wonderfully expressive aromas of quince, nashi pear, apple and pear, rounded out by bitter chocolate, cinnamon and gingerbread spice contributed by aging in wooden barrels.
The Pinot Blanc Reserve from Maximin Grünhaus is a good choice for all connoisseurs who like it dry. At the same time, however, it never appears meager or brittle, as one might naturally expect from a top wine. Light-footed and multifaceted, this crisp white wine presents itself on the palate. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Pinot Blanc Reserve flatters the palate with a velvety feel, without lacking juicy liveliness. In the finish, this storable white wine from the Mosel wine-growing region finally inspires with beautiful length. There are again hints of pear and nashi pear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the slate-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Pinot Blanc Reserve from Maximin Grünhaus
The elegant Pinot Blanc Reserve from Germany is a single varietal wine made from the Pinot Blanc grape variety. In the Moselle region, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of slate. After the manual harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Pinot Blanc Reserve is aged for several months in 1000 liter oak barrels.
