Swirling the wine glass, this white wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in the strong stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. This single-varietal Italian wine reveals wonderfully expressive notes of pears, apples, whitecurrants and quinces in the glass. There are also hints of black tea, lovage and garrigue.
This Italian wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with 2.8 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the top wine segment, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need sugar. On the palate, this powerful white wine is characterized by an incredibly creamy texture. Thanks to its vital fruit acidity, the Pinot Grigio Castel Ringberg Alto Adige is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this youthful white wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region, more precisely from Alto Adige / South Tyrol DOC, is impressive with its remarkable persistence. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the clay and limestone-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Pinot Grigio Castel Ringberg Alto Adige by Elena Walch
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Pinot Grigio. Only the best grapes were harvested for this wonderfully powerful single-varietal wine from Elena Walch. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay and limestone soils in Trentino-Alto Adige. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by maturation for several months in French oak barriques.
