More information about Pinot Noir Crescentia trocken - Kloster Eberbach

The Pinot Noir Crescentia from Kloster Eberbach in the Rheingau region reveals a bright, light red color in the swirled glass. When swirling the glass, one can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. The first nose of Pinot Noir Crescentia reveals nuances of black cherries, blueberries and plums. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging and even more fruity-balsamic nuances.

On the palate, the Pinot Noir Crescentia from Kloster Eberbach starts out wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. Some wines are dry, others bone dry. This red wine belongs to the latter, because it was vinified with only 0.3 g residual sugar. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the Pinot Noir Crescentia flatters with a pleasing mouthfeel without lacking juicy liveliness. The final of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Rheingau finally thrills with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the slate-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Kloster Eberbach Pinot Noir Crescentia

This balanced red wine from Germany is made from the Pinot Noir grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Rheingau. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of slate. What is unusual about the origin of this top wine from Kloster Eberbach is the fact that the grapes in the Rheingau grow on stone terraces. However, this traditional form of vineyard management is very laborious and therefore rarely found anymore. Pinot Noir Crescentia is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this German wine breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. Once perfect physiological ripeness is assured, the grapes for Pinot Noir Crescentia are harvested exclusively by hand without the aid of crude and less selective machinery. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Pinot Noir Crescentia is aged for several months in oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Pinot Noir Crescentia from Kloster Eberbach

Experience this red wine from Germany best tempered at 15 - 18°C as an accompanying wine to spicy curry with lamb, veal and onion casserole or arugula penne.
