More information about Pinot Noir - Markus Schneider

The powerful Pinot Noir from Markus Schneider enters the glass with a dense light red color, with a transition towards violet at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. If you give it some air, clear church windows appear at the edge of the glass. To the nose, this Markus Schneider red wine reveals all manner of mulberries, blueberries, blackberries and black currants. It joins other aromas such as cocoa bean, air-dried ham and brown bread due to the aging in large wooden barrels.

On the palate, the Schneider Pinot Noir impresses with its dry yet full-bodied flavor. This silky and dense red wine is full-bodied and multilayered on the palate. Due to its concise fruit acidity, the Pinot Noir reveals itself exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. The final of this red wine from the Palatinate with good aging ability finally convinces with considerable reverberation.

Vinification of the Pinot Noir from Markus Schneider

This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Noir. For this wonderfully powerful single-varietal wine from Markus Schneider, only the best grapes were brought in. In the Palatinate, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sedimentary and weathered rock. Pinot Noir is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this German wine breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. After the harvest, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by maturation for several months in oak barriques.

Food recommendation for the Markus Schneider Pinot Noir

Experience this red wine from Germany ideally tempered at 15 - 18 ° C as a companion to chickpea curry, duck breast with sugar snap peas or pasta with sausage dumplings.
