Pinotage Bottelary Hills 2018 - Neil Ellis
The Pinotage Bottelary Hills from Neil Ellis is a wonderful, pure grape variety and balanced red wine from the South African wine-growing region of Stellenbosch.
This wine presents itself in a dark ruby red with cherry red highlights in the glass. The opulent bouquet is dominated by dark stone fruits (ripe cherries and juicy plums) with a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, this South African red wine is wonderfully balanced and shows a great elegance, a ripe tannin structure with a finely integrated fruit acid. The finish has a pleasant length.
Vinification of Neil Ellis Pinotage Bottelary Hills
The Pinotage grapes for this red wine are immediately brought to the Neil Ellis cellar after the harvest. There the grapes are first fermented in stainless steel tanks. Once the fermentation process is complete, this wine is aged for 16 months in French oak barrels - 60% of which are new wood.
Food recommendation for Bottelary Hills Neil Ellis Pinotage
This dry red wine from South Africa goes excellently with all kinds of game dishes in a strong dark sauce, beef ragout with homemade spaetzle or selected ham and salami specialities. We recommend that you decant this wine for at least 1 to 2 hours before enjoying it.
