More information about Pittermännchen Riesling trocken GG - Schlossgut Diel

The light-footed Pittermännchen Riesling GG from Schlossgut Diel enters the glass with a brilliant light yellow color. In the middle, the tone changes to a beautiful golden yellow color. After the first swirl, this white wine stands out with a fascinating brilliance that makes it dance lively in the glass. In the glass, this white wine from Schlossgut Diel displays aromas of pears, nashi pears, apples and quince, complemented by gingerbread spice, lovage and green bell bell pepper. The Schlossgut Diel Pittermännchen Riesling GG delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with 3.6 grams of residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this German wine enchants naturally with all dryness with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require sugar. On the tongue, this light-footed white wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. Due to its lively fruit acidity, the Pittermännchen Riesling GG presents itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this matured from the wine-growing region of the Nahe finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of quince and apple appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the slate-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Pittermännchen Riesling GG from Schlossgut Diel

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Riesling. Only the best grapes were harvested for this wonderfully elegant varietal wine from Schlossgut Diel. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Nahe region. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of slate. What is unusual about the origin of this white wine from Schlossgut Diel is the fact that the grapes grow on stone terraces in Burg Layen (DE). However, this time-honored method of vineyard design is very costly and therefore rarely found anymore. Without question, the Pittermännchen Riesling GG is also determined by the climate and viticultural style Burg Layen. This German wine can be described in the best sense of the word as a wine of the Old World, which presents itself extraordinarily impressive. A very high influence on the ripening of the vintage is also the fact that the Riesling grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate. This manifests itself, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for the Pittermännchen Riesling GG are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for a few months in 1200-liter oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Pittermännchen Riesling GG from Schlossgut Diel
