More information about Pouilly-Fuissé AOC - Domaine du Château de la Chaize

The Pouilly-Fuissé of Domaine du Château de la Chaize from Burgundy reveals a bright, light red color in the wine glass. If you give it some air in the wine glass by swirling it, you can perceive a first-class balance in this red wine, because it does not stand out on the walls of the glass in a watery, syrupy or liqueur-like way. Poured into a red wine glass, this Old World red wine presents wonderfully expressive aromas of black currant, blackberry and strawberry, rounded out by minerality contributed by barrel aging.

On the palate, the Pouilly-Fuissé of Domaine du Château de la Chaize starts wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. Balanced and multi-faceted, this silky red wine presents itself on the palate. The finale of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of Burgundy, more precisely from the Beaujolais, finally impresses with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by sand and clay.

Vinification of the Domaine du Château de la Chaize Pouilly-Fuissé

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Gamay. Only impeccable grape material was used for this wonderfully balanced varietal wine from Domaine du Château de la Chaize. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in Burgundy. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay and sand. Of course, the Pouilly-Fuissé is also determined by the climate and viticultural style of Beaujolais. This French wine can be described in the best sense of the word as an Old World wine that is extraordinarily impressive. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in large wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the elegant Pouilly-Fuissé is aged for several months in oak barrels.

Food pairing for the Pouilly-Fuissé from Domaine du Château de la Chaize

Drink this red wine from France best tempered at 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to duck breast with sugar snap peas, roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce or veal boiled beef with beans and tomatoes.
