More information
The Predappio Riserva Romagna from Borgo Condé in Emilia-Romagna presents a bright, ruby red color in the glass. If you hold the glass at a slight angle, you can see a transition in color towards garnet red at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. When swirling the wine glass, you can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it is neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. This Borgo Condé red wine presents the nose with all kinds of blackcurrants, blueberries, mulberries and blackberries. As if that wasn't already impressive, the ageing in large wooden barrels adds further aromas such as gingerbread spice, cinnamon and forest floor.
The Borgo Condé Predappio Riserva Romagna is wonderfully dry for wine drinkers. This red wine is never coarse or austere, but round and smooth. The texture of this well-balanced red wine is wonderfully dense on the palate. The finish of this well-matured red wine from the Emilia-Romagna wine-growing region impresses with a beautiful finish.
Vinification of the Borgo Condé Predappio Riserva Romagna
This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Sangiovese. Only flawless grapes were harvested for this wonderfully balanced single-varietal wine from Borgo Condé. The Predappio Riserva Romagna is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The ripeness of the grapes for this Sangiovese wine is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Emilia-Romagna, the grapes thrive in a warm climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high must weight. After the grape harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by ageing for several months in French oak barrels.
