The Terre di Campo Sasso Primitivo di Manduria presents itself to the wine connoisseur as wonderfully dry. This red wine is never coarse or austere, but round and smooth. On the palate, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly velvety texture. The Primitivo di Manduria is impressively fresh and lively on the palate thanks to its present fruit acidity. On the finish, this youthful red wine from the Apulia wine-growing region finally delights with good length. Once again, there are hints of blueberry and mulberry. In the finish, mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soils are added.
Vinification of the Terre di Campo Sasso Primitivo di Manduria
This powerful red wine from Italy is made from the Primitivo grape variety. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on limestone soils in Apulia. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Primitivo di Manduria is matured in oak barriques for a further 6 months.
