With the Encierra Puquillay comes a first-class red wine in the glass. In this it shows a wonderfully dense purple color. The bouquet of this red wine from Aconcagua seduces with nuances of plum, rose, morello cherry and violet. It is its fruity nature that makes this wine so special.

This red from Encierra is perfect for all wine connoisseurs who like as little sweetness in the wine as possible. However, it is never sparse or brittle, as you would expect from a wine in the high quality range. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. Due to its concise fruit acidity, the Puquillay is exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this well storable red wine from the wine-growing region of Aconcagua finally inspires with beautiful length. Once again, hints of lavender and lilac appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by volcanic rock and clay are added.

Vinification of Encierra Puquillay

The starting point for Encierra's premium and wonderfully powerful Puquillay cuvée is Cabernet Sauvignon and Mourvèdre grapes. In Aconcagua, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and volcanic rock. After harvesting, the grapes immediately enter the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Puquillay can further harmonize on the fine lees for 12 months.
