More information

With the M. Chapoutier Rasteau comes a first-class red wine in the swirled glass. In this it presents a wonderfully dense, crimson color. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of quince, blackberry, pear and black currant, rounded off by other fruity nuances.

On the palate, M. Chapoutier's Rasteau starts pleasantly dry, grippy and aromatic. There are dry and really dry. This red wine belongs to the second group, because it was vinified with only 2.2 g residual sugar. This velvety red wine is full-bodied and complex on the palate. In the finish, this youthful from the wine-growing region of the Rhône Valley finally thrilled with considerable length. There are again hints of quince and black currant. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and limestone are added.

Vinification of the M. Chapoutier Rasteau

Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah grapes are the basis for the first-class and wonderfully powerful Cuvée Rasteau from M. Chapoutier. In the Rhône Valley, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay, limestone, sandstone, clay and marl. The grapes for this red wine from France, after ensuring optimal ripeness, are harvested exclusively by hand . After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are selected and gently broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn off.

Food recommendation for the M. Chapoutier Rasteau

This French wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to braised chicken in red wine, osso buco or Thai cucumber salad.
