More information about Ratscher Weissburgunder - Weingut Gross

The elegant Ratscher Weissburgunder from Weingut Gross comes into the glass with bright light yellow. The color of this white wine also shows golden yellow reflections in the center. When swirling the wine glass, one can perceive a first-class balance in this white wine, as it does not stand out on the walls of the glass, neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. To the nose, this Weingut Gross white wine reveals all manner of papayas, gallia melon, mangoes, physalis and pineapple. As if that wasn't already impressive, the aging in large wooden barrels adds other aromas such as Mediterranean herbs, green peppers and juniper.

This white wine from Weingut Gross is ideal for all wine connoisseurs who like as little residual sweetness in the wine as possible. At the same time, however, it never shows itself meager or brittle, as one would naturally expect in a wine top wine range. On the tongue, this balanced white wine is characterized by an incredibly crisp and velvety texture. Finally, the finale of this white wine from the wine-growing region of Styria, more precisely from southern Styria, impresses with a beautiful reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by sand and limestone.

Vinification of the Weingut Gross Ratscher Pinot Blanc

The basis for the balanced Ratscher Weissburgunder from Styria are grapes from the grape variety Weißburgunder. In Styria, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sand, limestone and gravel. After the grape harvest, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, Ratscher Weissburgunder is aged for several months in large oak barrels.
