More information about Redmont Landwein aus Österreich - Weingut Gerhard Markowitsch

The Gerhard Markowitsch Redmont Landwein from Austria is a first-class red wine. It offers a wonderfully dense, light red color. This Austrian wine tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with just 1.2 grams of residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so, despite its dryness, this Austrian naturally delights with the finest balance. Taste does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. Thanks to its lively fruit acidity, the Redmont Landwein from Austria is impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria, which is capable of maturing well, ultimately delights with a beautiful aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the gravel-dominated soils.

Vinification of Weingut Gerhard Markowitsch Redmont Landwein aus Österreich

The powerful Redmont Landwein aus Österreich from Austria is a cuvée vinified from the Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Zweigelt grape varieties. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on gravel soils in Lower Austria. Moreover, the grapes for this top wine from Weingut Gerhard Markowitsch do not grow in the lowlands, but dig their roots into the soil on steep slopes. The cultivation of steep slopes ensures that the vines receive maximum sunshine even in less sunny regions with shorter growing seasons. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After this, the powerful Redmont Landwein from Austria is matured for 16 months in French oak barriques.
