More information
With the Bodegas Bardos Reserva comes a first-class red wine in the wine glass. In this it shows a wonderfully dense ruby color. Held at a slight angle, a transition of color toward garnet red is evident at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. Swiveling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, evident in strong church windows at the rim of the glass. This Spanish cuvée flatters in the glass wonderfully expressive notes of blueberries, mulberries, blackcurrants and blackberries. These are joined by hints of oak, gingerbread spice and cocoa bean.
On the palate, the Reserva from Bodegas Bardos starts pleasantly dry, grippy and aromatic. On the tongue, this punchy red wine is characterized by an immensely weighty texture. Due to its lively fruit acidity, the Reserva reveals itself to be fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Castile - Leon, more precisely from Ribera del Duero DO, finally thrilled with beautiful reverberation.
Vinification of the Reserva from Bodegas Bardos
This powerful red wine from Spain is made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo. Clearly, the Reserva is also determined by climate and viticultural style Ribera del Duero DO. This Spaniard can literally be called an Old World wine, which presents itself extraordinarily impressive. Once the perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for the Reserva are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the Reserva is aged for another 16 months in French oak barrels.
Food recommendation for the Reserva from Bodegas Bardos
Drink this red wine from Spain best tempered at 15 - 18°C as an accompanying wine to goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram, braised chicken in red wine or lamb stew with chickpeas and dried figs.
