With the Baron Philippe de Rothschild Mouton Cadet Réserve Médoc 2016 comes a first-class red wine in the glass. In this it reveals a wonderfully bright crimson color. With a bit of side lay, the Bordeaux glass reveals a charming garnet red hue at the rims. If you give it some air in the wine glass by swirling it, you can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of blackberry, blueberry, mulberry and wild berry jam, rounded out by vanilla, oriental spices and dark chocolate.
This red from Baron Philippe de Rothschild is the right choice for all wine drinkers who like it dry. However, it never shows itself meager or brittle, as one would naturally expect from a wine of this price range. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Mouton Cadet Réserve Médoc 2016 flatters with a pleasing palate without lacking freshness. In the finish, this matured from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of blackberry and wild berry jam. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and gravel join in.
