More information

With the Baron Philippe de Rothschild Mouton Cadet Réserve Médoc 2016 comes a first-class red wine in the glass. In this it reveals a wonderfully bright crimson color. With a bit of side lay, the Bordeaux glass reveals a charming garnet red hue at the rims. If you give it some air in the wine glass by swirling it, you can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of blackberry, blueberry, mulberry and wild berry jam, rounded out by vanilla, oriental spices and dark chocolate.

This red from Baron Philippe de Rothschild is the right choice for all wine drinkers who like it dry. However, it never shows itself meager or brittle, as one would naturally expect from a wine of this price range. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Mouton Cadet Réserve Médoc 2016 flatters with a pleasing palate without lacking freshness. In the finish, this matured from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of blackberry and wild berry jam. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and gravel join in.

The basis for the first-class and wonderfully balanced cuvée Mouton Cadet Réserve Médoc 2016 by Baron Philippe de Rothschild are Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Bordeaux. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay, sand and gravel. The 2016 Mouton Cadet Réserve Médoc is an Old World wine through and through, as this Frenchman breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The berries for this red wine from France are harvested exclusively by hand when perfectly ripe. After the harvest, the grapes quickly arrive at the winery.
