An award winning distillery
At the end of the 18th century, the Ricossa family owned an award-winning distillery on the outskirts of Asti in the Piedmont region.
Almost a century later, the history of Ricossa (fortunately) has not come to an end. Today, behind the walls of the old distillery, Italian tradition is combined with genius to produce quality wines day after day.
In addition to its high level of professionalism, ingenuity and refinement, Ricossa has managed to transform itself from a small provincial distillery into an international brand.
Loyalty to Piedmont
The grapes for the wonderful wines of Ricossa are cultivated and harvested all over Piedmont. Here the close collaboration with the local farmer is highly appreciated and held in high esteem. The following grape varieties are used among others:
Appassimento in red and white
Ricossa produces both red and white wines according to the Appassimento method. Appassimento stands for the drying of freshly picked grapes. The grapes are usually dried outdoors - or in well-ventilated rooms. This allows the water to evaporate and the grapes reach a higher sugar concentration.
