More information
In the glass, the Riesling Reserve Heiligenstein Lyra from Bründlmayer shows a bright light yellow color. This wine also shows golden yellow reflections in the core. After the first swirl, one can perceive a perfect balance in this white wine, as it does not stand out on the glass walls watery or syrupy or liqueur-like. This single varietal Austrian wine displays delightfully distinguished and complex notes of lime, star fruit, orange and pomelo in the glass. These are joined by hints of Mediterranean herbs, juniper and garrigue.
On the palate, Bründlmayer's Riesling Reserve Heiligenstein Lyra opens wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. Balanced and multifaceted, this melting and crisp white wine presents itself on the palate. In the finish, this very storable white wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of mirabelle plum and lemongrass appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by volcanic rock and sandstone join in.
Vinification of the Bründlmayer Riesling Reserve Heiligenstein Lyra
This balanced white wine from Austria is made from the Riesling grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Lower Austria. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of sandstone and volcanic rock. Riesling Reserve Heiligenstein Lyra is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Austrian breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Riesling Reserve Heiligenstein Lyra are harvested exclusively by hand, without the aid of crude and less selective machinery. After the harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully milled. Fermentation follows in large wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.
Food recommendation for the Riesling Reserve Heiligenstein Lyra by Bründlmayer
This white wine from Austria is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to fennel salad with red lentils, onion tart with thyme or spaghetti with caper and tomato sauce.
