More information

In the glass, Karl May's organically produced Riesling Osthofen Bio offers a bright light yellow color. The first nose of the Riesling Osthofen Bio tells of pink grapefruits, limes and grapefruits. The fruity parts of the bouquet are joined by more fruity-balsamic nuances.

The Karl May Riesling Osthofen Bio presents itself pleasantly dry to the wine lover. This white wine never appears coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine in the high quality wine range. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Riesling Osthofen Bio reveals itself to be fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of kumquat and grapefruit appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the limestone-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Riesling Osthofen Bio from Karl May

The balanced Riesling Osthofen Bio from Germany is a single varietal wine, organically produced from the Riesling grape variety. In Rheinhessen, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After completion of fermentation, the Riesling Osthofen Bio is allowed to further harmonize on the fine lees for several months.

Food recommendation for the Riesling Osthofen Bio from Karl May

This German white wine is best enjoyed moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to asparagus salad with quinoa, vegetable salad with beetroot or spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto.
