More information
The powerful Riesling Sonne from Weingut Pfaffl flows into the glass with a dense light yellow color. With a little time in the glass, this white wine from the Old World offers wonderfully expressive aromas of apricot, nectarine, peach and mirabelle plum, rounded off by sun-warmed rock and forest floor.
This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with 7.5 grams of residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine in the high quality wine range, this Austrian naturally enraptures with the finest balance for all its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need sugar. With its vital fruit acidity, Riesling Sonne is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria, which can be stored well, finally inspires with beautiful length. Again, hints of vineyard peach and nectarine appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the limestone and sand dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Pfaffl Estate Riesling Sonne
The powerful Riesling Sonne from Austria is a single-varietal wine, made from the Riesling grape variety. In Lower Austria, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sand and limestone. After the manual harvest, the grapes reach the press house in the fastest way. Here they are selected and carefully milled. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Riesling Sonne is allowed to further harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.
Food recommendation for the Riesling Sonne from Weingut Pfaffl
Enjoy this white wine from Austria ideally moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C as a companion to coconut-lime fish curry, fruity endive salad or roasted trout with ginger pear.
