More information
The Riesling from the wine-growing region of Saale Unstrut presents itself in the glass in a bright light yellow. When swirling the glass, one can perceive a first-class balance in this white wine, because it stands out on the walls of the glass neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. In the glass, this white wine from Winzerhof Gussek offers aromas of green apple, apricots and peaches, complemented by mineral. The Winzerhof Gussek Riesling presents itself to the wine connoisseur pleasantly dry. This white wine never shows itself coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine premium and site wine segment. On the palate, the texture of this balanced white wine is wonderfully light. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Riesling is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. The final of this white wine from the wine-growing region Saale Unstrut finally thrilled with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the soils dominated by limestone and sandstone.
Vinification of the Riesling from Winzerhof Gussek
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Riesling. Only the best grape material was used for this wonderfully balanced varietal wine from Winzerhof Gussek. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Saale Unstrut. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone and sandstone. Riesling is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this German wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Riesling can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for several months.
